The World
Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) brought together over 40,000 world
leaders, representatives from NGOs, businesses and other
organizations
to address the global challenge of sustainable development. Sustainable Step New England presents a
first-hand account of the Summit featuring Pat Daniel, Associate Director of
CERES, who attended the Summit. Pat
will share her reflections on the successes and disappointments of this
historic event, as well as implications for future work on sustainability. She
also will provide an update on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)--the
international standard for corporate sustainability reporting--which received
significant acclaim at WSSD.
This Networking Meeting will also feature a
10 minute introduction to The Natural Step framework for sustainability,
presented by Beth Tener of Sustainable
Step New England.
Please bring a brownbag lunch.
